Since 1996 this one-of-kind camp allows the participants to earn a paycheck working with the WI Dept. of Natural Resources, earn high school science credit and enjoy recreational activities. This co-ed camp for teens serves a variety of people from various backgrounds including, but not limited to: Low-income families, mild learning disabilities, interest in natural, environmental and life sciences and participants that need to increase their work-related skills. The camp is administered by the local workforce development agency, NWCEP, Inc. Their staff are able to increase the experience of the campers by keeping a low camper-to-counselor ratio and serving as positive role models. While the cost may seem substantial, over 1/3 of the total cost goes back to the camper in the form of a paycheck. Please contact Camp Director, Brad Gingras for more information.
