The audition based classes are designed for career-minded students. Students accepted and enrolled into the Academy take classes that are designed to develop students both physically and mentally in the professional techniques of acting, singing and dancing. The 24-week curriculum includes Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes in Tap, Ballet/Jazz, Improvisation, Scene Sudy, Acting, Voice and Music Theory. The Academy at HSMT excels in providing opportunities for students to gain in-depth experience and put their training to work through performance opportunities with shows at the end of every school year, student matinee projects in Zilkha Hall, and a three (3) day performance show at Miller Outdoor Theatre. In addition, only Academy students are eligible for placement in TUTS' mainstage productions in Sarofim Hall.
