The Lighthouse Project specializes in serving clients with Nonverbal Learning Disorders, NVLD, Asperger's (AS), high-functioning Autism(HF), Attention deficits ADHD and ADD. Our camps enhance social and sensory development, including friendship, team work, nonverbal communication, frustration tolerance and other social and sensory processing skills. In addition, the children learn about motor planning and coordination, muscle strengthening, and academic related skills. Our camps geared towards preschool and kindergarten children focus on improving pragmatic and social skills and auditory processing. Other camps utilize the Handwriting without Tears program that uses sensory integration to strengthen upper body and hand coordination. For elementary school aged children, our camps are theme-based to make the learning experience fun for the kids. The themed camps include friendship camp, detective camp, wacky science camp, superhero camp, and pirate camp. For middle school and highschool aged children our camps focus on developing academic organization skills, social skills geared towards coed groups, strategies to deal with middleschool pressure, and a special camp dedicated to enhance the social skills of teenage girls. All the camps focus on social and communication skills and are organized by age and grade level. Each camp only accepts six children to ensure each child recieves individualized attention. The summer camp providers are all licensed occupational therapists and speech therapists.
