Building self-confidence to gain better judgement, improve self-control, and grow an overall better self-image gives each student the tools to make the right choices when faced with society's pressures. In additional to maintaining a healthier mind, students will also learn how to develop good coordination, gain strength, increase flexibility, and improve their cardiovascular conditioning. As their body becomes healthier and stronger, their ability to defend themselves will become stronger. Each student will progress at his or her own rate, and over time their ability to exhibit the art will improve. Talent, both learned and natural, increases as more effort is made, since true success can only be measured by individual improvement. As our students have learned to achieve personal success, many of their family members have also found hours of enjoyment in the art. They learn to interact better with each other, friends, and others in their lives. Part of the philosophy of martial arts is self-improvement and self-awareness. This provides a great foundation for a more productive and ordered life, and gives families another way to spend time together. As Grand Master Saunders says, "A family that kicks together, sticks together!"
