Named in honor of William E. Bullard Mar. 26, 1927 ~Jan. 12, 1998 Bill Bullard, a native of Marietta, was president of Mayes-Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia. He was a founder and director at United Federal Savings and Loan and served on the boards of Barnett Bank and Bank South. He graduated from Marietta High School, Emory University, and Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science. He was a trustee of the Kennesaw State College Foundation, a director of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and chairman of the Cobb Advisory Board of United Way. He won the Cobb County Citizen of the Year award in 1995. Bill and his wife, Peggy, gave the Root House to the Cobb Landmarks Society for restoration.
