Edward L. Bouie, Sr. Traditional Theme School opened its doors in the 1996-97 school year. The purpose of the theme school is to provide an additional choice for parents and students that is not restricted by previous academic performance, but solely dependent upon their interest in pursuing learning experiences offered by the traditional theme school. The Traditional Elementary Theme school offers concentrated instruction in all core areas, extended large block scheduling to facilitate cross curricular instruction, and required parental involvement. The program also offers high academic standards and expectations, required uniforms and a strict dress code, low pupil-teacher ratio.
